FAQ: Maintaining Categories

One of the most popular things to customize your store to your liking is to add new categories and edit the books in different categories. This is a simple process using your AWMeStore Admin Panel.

1. Login to your admin panel

2. Goto "Advanced >> Product Categories"

3. In Section 2 "Assign a Book to A Category!" choose the Book and category you want!

Note 1: You can assign a book to multiple categories so it can be in two (or more) places at once!

Note 2: In the future you may decide you no longer want a book in a category, especially the FEATURE category. To remove books visit the link in Section "1. View Product Categories Already Assigned" to delete books from categories. This does not delete the book or the category, just the association of that book to that category.

Note 3: You can also use Sections 3 and 4 in "Advanced >> Product Categories" to add, edit, and delete the categories themselves.

Re: FAQ: Maintaining Categories

How do I post a catagory link? Suppose I want to create the catagory freebies and then post a link and have the freebies displayed.

Figures it out as a config selection wink

Re: FAQ: Maintaining Categories

Yes, you're right. Once you've setup your categories, you'll need to go to Config/Setup to activate them! You can choose a category listing in the "Index Page View" section

That should certainly be in the FAQ and now it is.... thanks!

What are the chances of getting subcategories?

Re: FAQ: Maintaining Categories

Right now it is not a high priority item or planned. However, I do think it is a good idea and will add it to the possible feature list.
